David Kelly

David Kelly, CEO

David Kelly, CEO of Growth Solutions Team, is a proven resource and advisor to small businesses that want to achieve new levels of greatness with their firms. GST provides small businesses the advisory, consulting, leadership development, professional sales training, coaching and accountability services to support clients in their development. Growth Solutions Team under the direction of Kelly, has worked with hundreds of businesses, owners, sales professionals, and managers to improve results, strategic focus, and to establish well-defined corporate visions that all stakeholders can support.

Kelly began his career as a small business owner.  He and his business partner started Insurance Marketing Concepts; an insurance agency and investment advisory firm. They sold the firm within the first (4) years after growing it to over 400 agents system-wide and expanding the footprint to 26 states. He then spent the bulk of his career as the CEO of Liberty Mortgage where under his leadership Liberty expanded from a regional lender serving (8) states to a national lender in (48) states.  It was recognized as one of the top producing mortgage lending firms in the nation.

Kelly has served as Director and Division Sales Trainer for Jani-King, a privately held international facilities management and maintenance firm. He retired from corporate America and started Growth Solutions, LLC in 2012.  He served his country in the Marine Corps, has been active in the community through involvement in local service organizations, and coaching youth sports.  He is a father to his college-aged children, and most recently known for his new role: Farmer.  He and the dogs, pigs and chickens reside in Baltimore County.

Barbara Larrabee, CMO

Barbara Larrabee began a sales career over 30 years ago and since then has co-founded and run a number of companies, served as a Marketing Executive for an international, billion dollar manufacturer in the health and wellness field, started and ran both a training division in the IT Contracting and Consulting industry spun off and started her own recruiting firm in the same field. Her career started in the Financial Services Industry with Northwestern Mutual and worked residential real estate and her own marketing firm while in school at the Loyola University. Barbara has trained, coached and lead hundreds of professionals and business executives in her career.

Today, Barbara is the Chief Marketing Officer and Sales Catalyst for Growth Solutions Team. Drawing on her vast sales and marketing experience, Barbara leads the charge for Growth Solutions Team, and her clients as they work towards greater sales and profitability. She is the co-author of the book “The Perfect Network-OUT, Balancing, Creating & Living Wealth and Wellness”. She has a history of leadership in volunteer positions and boards including The Exchange Club of Highlandtown and the Fundraising Chair and District Membership Committee in Rotary, Towsontowne Club, to name a few.  Barbara is the proud mother of two college-aged sons.  She enjoys being outside and working on their farm in rural Baltimore County, Maryland.

OUR TEAM

Philip Romm is a human resources professional with over 20 years of experiences. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Rochester, a MA in American Studies from Columbia University, and a MS in Industrial Labor Relations. Phil is also a certified human resource professional, holding the designation of SHRM – CP from the Society of Human Resources Management. He brings high level strategic human resource solutions to any size organization.

His decades of experience serving as a CFO, COO and CEO, let’s him know firsthand, what information business owners need to make smart decisions and be successful.  His experience ranges from work with multi-national firms like Citibank to the community-based Freedom Federal, where the company received an honorable mention as Fast Company Magazine’s “Innovative Company of the Year”.  Whether it is guiding your company through an IPO, as he did with FTI Consulting, advising your executive team through a strategic planning session or your company through the next level of growth, he and his team are helping to develop a road map for your company’s success.

Our Strategic CFO Services Team makes up nearly 200 years of combined business experience in the field.  The Team’s industry expertise covers nearly every sector including professional services, tech, manufacturing, distribution, construction, retail, consumer services and health care. Taking the uniqueness of your business and boiling it down to numbers that make sense to the decision-makers in your firm.

George teaches multiple courses around the country for the AICPA (American Institute of CPA’s) and has taught Finance at both the graduate and under graduate levels at Loyola University of Maryland and the University of Baltimore.  He served on several boards involving at-risk children, including IC Orphans and Good Shepherd Services.  George received his MBA from the College of William and Mary, has completed a marathon and coached a high school baseball team to a State title. He resides in Towson, MD with his wife Martha.

Beth has over 25 years experience in operational management in the medical, legal, financial, and services industries. She started her career at Johns Hopkins and has worked with numerous businesses to develop support staff processes, operational management, and administrative competencies. As well as being a HIPAA Certified Privacy Associate, Beth is proficient in a variety Database Management Systems/CRMs and can usually be found training key personnel on use of those systems. Beth graduated from the University of Baltimore where she began cultivating her strong commitment to her community and currently serves on several boards and actively volunteers in her community. She has furthered her passion in volunteering by attending and graduating Harford Leadership Academy in 2018.

Jonathan Chiodo

Jonathan Chiodo, MBA, is part of our Special Projects-Banking division of Growth Solutions Team.

Jon’s extensive and successful banking career with M&T Bank as a commercial banker provides our clients with an excellent resource to navigate the commercial lending process, effectively.  His ability to act advise on corporate transactions,  structuring loans related to buy-outs, mergers/acquisitions, working capital needs, and owner occupied and investment real estate transactions is of great value to our clients.

Jon received his MBA from Loyola University in 2014, and his B.A. in Financial Economics from the University of Rochester in 2008. He also received certificates from the Simon School of Business in Accounting, Finance, and Business Law.  Jon currently is on the board of directors for the Cool Kids Campaign and is the co-chair of the Young Professionals Committee of the First Tee of Greater Baltimore. Jon lives in Middle River with his wife Amy and his son Bennett.

Mike Waranch

Mike Waranch is a dynamic recruiting and staffing professional with almost 15 years of extensive experience in identifying and placing talented candidates to align with client needs in a wide variety of industries. He has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and launched his own staffing firm three and a half years ago. Mike is skilled in business and corporate development, full life cycle recruiting, retention improvement and analysis, and on-boarding process improvement. He is strategic thinker with analytical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to design and execute effective strategies. He has been recognized for his ability to assess business cases and articulate actionable recommendations that provide solutions to client related recruiting needs.
