Towson Based Consumer Protection Firm Named “Law Firm of the Year” by Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service

TOWSON, MD (PRWEB) OCTOBER 15, 2019
The Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) awards Law Firm of the Year to Santoni, Vocci, & Ortega, LLC

With this award, MVLS recognizes the law firm that has provided significant services to the organization’s clients either by representing many individuals or using significant firm resources for one client. Santoni, Vocci, & Ortega, LLC, a Baltimore County firm, is being recognized for its extraordinary commitment to pro bono. Since 2017, Santoni, Vocci, & Ortega has provided pro bono legal assistance to 76 consumer cases. The award will be presented at MVLS’s Annual Awards Ceremony on October 15, 2019.

“We are honored to be the recipient of MVLS’s Law Firm of the Year Award,” said Matthew Thomas Vocci of Santoni, Vocci & Ortega, LLC. “MVLS fills a critical gap in legal services for those who cannot afford legal representation. Santoni, Vocci & Ortega is firmly committed to providing quality legal representation to low-income Marylanders. It fulfills our mission and that of MVLS to assist and empower borrowers and tenants to assert their rights.”

“A number of the tenants our firm represents are placed through MVLS,” said Chelsea Ortega of Santoni, Vocci & Ortega, LLC, who is also a member of MVLS’s CAN (Community Advocacy Network) Committee, which helps mentor young attorneys and focuses on increasing pro bono volunteers. “Some of Maryland’s most vulnerable populations, such as tenants, are facing corporations that almost always have legal representation. Without organizations like MVLS and pro bono attorneys, these individuals are unlikely to be successful.”

“We are especially honored to receive this award at the same time the incredible work of Bonnie Sullivan is being celebrated and MVLS moves forward in the capable hands of Susan Francis,” said Jane Santoni, of Santoni, Vocci & Ortega, LLC.
